Cavalier Bremworth Carpets

Cavalier Bremworth began in 1959 when Doug Bremner founded the Bremworth Carpet Company and set up a small factory in Papatoetoe, South Auckland. Within a few years, Bremworth began exporting its wool carpets to Australia. In 1964, the official Woolmark symbol was launched, and the following year Bremworth became the world's first carpet company entitled to use the Woolmark seal of quality. In 1967, UEB Industries, one of New Zealand's biggest corporations at the time, bought Bremworth and proceeded to establish spinning and scouring plants around the country. Five years later in 1972, Cavalier Carpets of New Zealand was founded by Tony Timpson and Grant Biel. A spinning plant was built at Wanganui in 1975 and in 1983 Cavalier Carpets listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange as Cavalier Corporation.

In 1988 Cavalier Carpets bought Bremworth's spinning and tufting plants including the much valued Bremworth name and distribution rights. In 1991 the combined companies relaunched under the Cavalier Bremworth brand. Since that time Cavalier Bremworth has gone on to establish a number of firsts, most significantly being the first carpet company in the world to gain an internationally recognised eco-label across its entire wool carpet range. Environmental Choice NZ accreditation was awarded in 2006 and shortly followed by the equivalent accreditation in Australia from Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA). This means our carpets gain maximum credit points in the Green Star Office Design rating tools. The company also has ISO 14001 accreditation demonstrating a commitment to take responsibility for its manufacturing footprint and continually improve its performance

Earthworks Grandeco

Grandeco is a stylish, functional and affordable floor covering which is more realistic in appearance than other wood look-alikes available in the market. It is hardwearing and adds character and style to any room. It is especially great for bathrooms and kitchens as it is impervious to water spills.

It is ideal for both residential and commercial use, is easy to install and will provide excellent service if it is properly installed on a smooth, level and dry subfloor.

Grandeco planks have a multilayer structure that is unaffected by temperature changes in terms of expansion, shrinkage or bending, and various wood looks, textures and colours are available with this exciting range.

With this Grandeco you have the best of both worlds, with all the pro’s of wood and laminate floors – but at the same time it provides a hardwearing floorcovering that requires minimum maintenance, is not affected by water, and the acoustics it provides are excellent.
